At the end of a battle between bands that are in permanent conflict, the doctor of the region receives, from the priest, the news that night he will be visited by the “black chief”, the commander of one of the bands in conflict, whose father was executed many years ago by Colonel Quintín’s orders, the doctor’s father. The announcement of this visit makes the doctor feel fear for the unexpected.
